Meet The Rowing Stones
4 Friends | 6 Nationalities | 1 Objective
JUAN 🇧🇪 - 25 years old
Like any good Belgian, he loves fries, abbey beers, and friends. But what makes him unique is his ability to combine these less sporty activities with an Ironman and the occasional marathon. Known to his friends as a masochistic bon vivant, his favorite saying is “There’s no harm in hurting oneself”. The Atlantic seemed to him like the obvious adventure.
BAUDOUIN 🇫🇷 🇧🇪 - 28 years old
Franco-Belgian who has spent too much time in England, he is a digital nomad living out of his backpack. A passionate itinerant traveler, he is also an experienced skipper of cruise sailboats. Although he didn’t think he shared Juan’s masochistic side, he discovered it while rowing 300km with him. Since then, he dreams of getting blisters at sea again.
JOACHIM 🇧🇷 🇫🇷 - 28 years old
Growing up in the heights of Rio, “Josh” is the true rower of the team: with several seasons at Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, he was then recruited by the University of California, Berkeley to row in Division 1. Eventually giving up rowing for craftsmanship, he jumped on his rowing machine with joy when his cousin Baudouin called him about the project.
JEAN-PIERRE 🇨🇦 🇨🇷 ðŸ‡ðŸ‡º - 28 years old
Despite a passport pointing to Quebec, “JP” has spent his life between Riyadh, Brazil, France, and Germany. An old friend of Baud and Josh, he was sipping a caipirinha on Copacabana with the latter when he heard about the project. “It won’t be without me,” was his reaction. And for good reason, he’s another example of a masochistic bon vivant, so how could he miss it?
